Just started 37.5mg venlafaxine slow release after bad side effects with citalopram and sertraline

Hi l have just taken my first dose of 37.5mg slow release of venlafaxine now really worried about how l am going to feel. I had really really bad sides effects within hours of taking citalopram and then was prescribed sertraline which was the same. I suffer from anxiety and feel edgy when going out with my husband. Can't think of going out by myself at the moment only to go to work which is only a 5 minute drive even then l get anxious about being away from my home. Would like to hear how people have got on with venlafaxine

I was terribly nauseated but I persisted and it went away after 2 weeks.

It was fine for me. I too had bad side effects from citroplam . It is a relatively small dose as max can be 200mg. Give a chance and hope it works for you.

3 weeks on and l am in a much better place mentally and haven't had any anxiety for the past week, so glad l did it. Day 5 was my worst for side effects, had a massive panic attack at work but after that things slowly got better. I feel even after just 3 weeks l have got my life coming back

Can i ask what side effects you had from sertraline?

On sertraline l was very sick, bad headaches, dizziness. I didn't tolerate it all Unfortunately but like all meds some get on well with it and some don't.
