Is anything even referred to as that these days? No homeopathic remedies, please and thank you, I know they are rubbish.

rescue remedy?

St John's wort?

madamez · 12/04/2008 09:37

I thought st john's wort was for depression? May go and read the label in the shop.
I have a feeling that if there was a safe, effective and affordable Something that made one's worries seem slightly less worrying, then it would already be in universal use so I imagine it's a straight choice between side-effects and snake oils but thanks anyway.

Think you are right about st john's wort being for depression.

So I take it you are more anxious and jittery?
Then rescue remedy probably best....or a good old joint
I really wish there was a miracle , safe, easy mood stabilizer.

I'm pregnant atm and sooooooo cool. I asked my gynae if there was any way she could possibly replicate this hormonal balance for after pregnancy?

She laughed and said that's what we are trying to do with menopause.......not there yet. But she did strongly suggest to try a cocktail of omegas+calcium+magnesium+B vitamins.

Here is the gist:
Omegas help as mood stabilizers
Calcium & Magnesium work together as muscle relaxants
B vitamins work on the brain to keep everything cool and focused.

I'd say give it a try. If it's not going to help, well it won't do any harm.

Try and take it easy. Be good to yourself.

Thanks all. Will try the vitamin route (calcium and magnesium allegedly good for high blood pressure anyway, as is Vitamin C).
