I suffer with severe anxiety/suicidal thoughts & would like to phone a helpline. I’ve tried texting Shout before but they seem so robotic and every time I’ve covered what’s going on with me it’s time for the conversation to close and they don’t give me any advice on moving forward.
has anyone called a helpline in a crisis? Which ones are really genuinely good??
never tried Samaritans but I want to xx
thank you xxx

If you're under 35, Papyrus can be helpful.

I've used Samaritans twice and they are very good. In 2011 I used their telephone service and in 2023 I used their email service, both were good, the email I preferred as it lasted longer (longer support going back and forth with emails) but the phone call was also good in a crisis.

Samaritans just listen... they wont offer any advice.
You are best getting in touch with you local MH team and setting up a crisis plan that they can work with when you call.
