Mental health and work

Hi all..
I have an anxiety disorder and a few other mental health problems. I’ve not worked for a while and left my last job after taking lots of sick leave and my contract wasn’t renewed ( worked in a school )
I have been declared upon assessment by the DWP as not capable for work and placed in the support group for Employment and support allowance.
My mental health is still not great but I miss working. I am ( I believe?) able to work up to 15 hours a week and I have seen a job that I really would like to apply for.
Again it is in a school, very few hours and it seems like it might be something I can do.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me? Am I mad to think of applying for it because I will of course need to tell them my situation and declare I do indeed have mental health issues, or should I just forget it because I don’t stand a chance anyway.
I feel really unsure as to what I should do. Can anyone help me out with this situation please.

I don't know any of the technicalities but I wanted to say two things:

  1. Well done
  2. Having a job really helps with anxiety.
Go for it!

Thank you so much 😊

I am scared but know that I am good at what I do despite my own issues with my mental state.

If you think 15 hours a week is manageable and won't impede on your MH, meaning you are off sick a lot, then you should go for it. As a chronic over thinker as much as I never want to go to work I know it is good for me and my MH.

It’s only for two mornings a week. I think it would help me.
