I've been on it for a couple of weeks and keep waking up drenched in sweat. Also had some chest pain. Is this normal?

That wasn’t my experience when I first started on it. It might be worth talking to your GP again.

I've been on it for about a year now and the night sweats are definitely normal, a friend of mine on a different antidepressant had the same symptom too - they do pass though!

I'm not sure about the chest pain, not something I remember experiencing myself.

Sweats absolutely. Chest pain I haven't had, is chest pain a normal symptom for you of your anxiety?

Good to know re sweats. No the chest pain I've never really had like this. I'll see and maybe see GP. Have been quite stressed.

Could be the stress, could be the citalopram. Give it another week or so and if no change try and speak to GP.
