Does anyone take the drug Paroxetine , for low mood and anxiety? I'm post menopausal and can't have HRT ( secondary BC).

Thanks

Use a different one from the same group, Paroxetine can be genuinely very difficult to stop when needed, it’s not as if it’s a better antidepressant than any of the others

I can’t have HRT either.

I found Venlafaxine much better than Paroxetine.

I took it years ago for ocd.

I went from my life being ruled by my ocd to the complete opposite. My confidence was sky high. I came off it after a year or so very very slowly, but slower than the doctors recommended.

No side effects coming off it.

I will say the first 2 weeks when I started taking it were a struggle. I was incredibly spaced out.

Positives were I got my life back. Negatives were unable to orgasm.

I disagree that it is the same as all the rest.

Paroxetine has been the only anti-depressant that has helped me although it does come with some unwanted side effects. My debilitating anxiety and depression are so reduced that I have decided that side effects are worthwhile. I have been on and off it for 30 years. Hope that helps.

Me too.

I found it easy to start and easy to come off

Nit like millions of others that made me anxious or jittery.

I have been on paroxetine for years. It works well to keep my mood stable and enable me to function normally. If I reduce the dose, which I do seasonally, the only side effect I get is very vivid, weird dreams.

My adult DS was on venlafaxine for a while but found the brain zaps when coming off it very difficult. There's nothing like that with paroxetine.
