Hello!

I've been on Sertraline for quite a while for anxiety. I come off and it tends to come back, despite what feels like half a life time of therapy and every other lifestyle changes since.

However, since being on it it's sort of stopped working and, to add insult to injury, I've gained around a stone. I'm a small person so this stone looks very noticeable.

The obvious answer is to possibly switch medications, but given I had such awful start up side effects, I'm - quite frankly - terrified to.

I'm therefore stuck on a medication that isn't working and is making me fat. But haven't the guts to change!

I wondered if anything else has made the switch successfully and painlessly? I've been on both Sertraline and Citalopram before.

Any reassuring stories would be 💯

I've changed meds a lot of times. Some have better side effects, some have worse. But I think it varies so much. I'm currently on trazodone which is working pretty well albeit I take a couple of other things on top of it too just to help it work a bit better.
