Pure joy

Inspired by some of the doom & gloom on MN lately….I want to start a threat about pure, unbridled joy- all of it: the big and the small!

What lifts you up, makes you smile, brightens your day?

I’ll start:

  • my little girl’s face when she sees something funny or when she’s excited about something. Also when she’s fast asleep! 🥰
  • My morning coffee
  • Seeing butterflies in summer
  • Stand up comedy- obviously depends on the comedian!
  • Walking through the park
  • beautiful crystals
  • cats
  • Fooood- I love my food haha

I could go on….

Thanks for this. I found during a very stressful period of my life over the last couple of years that I really started taking more joy in the moment. I knew I could not resolve the bigger anxieties but that made me more conscious of making the most of moments in the day when I was walking along with the kids or enjoying the sunshine, speaking to a friend, eating something delicious. It can be done.

Love it. Joy in the small things 🌱 makes a huge difference to how we feel! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Watching and listening to the birds in the garden
Feeling the hot sun on my skin
My cat

For me pure unbridled joy is an orgasm, other things bring me joy and make me happy but in that moment nothing compares.

I wanted to add- music; swimming in the sea, wearing floaty skirts and sandals….
In the winter- a big mug of hot chocolate curled up on my sofa watching Netflix with big fluffy bed socks on!
Having a laugh with colleagues- guess that’s one good thing about not wfh!

My DD's sense of humour, she can make me laugh even when I feel crappy. My cat, how pretty she is and all her little quirks. My morning cup of tea and crumpets while watching Home and Away (guilty pleasure, pretty scenery/escapism!) Blush Lovely idea for a thread OP, thanks Smile

Getting into freshly washed bedsheets and reading a really good book until I fall asleep.

Having the house to myself, putting on my favourite songs and singing my heart out.
