I have been on seroxat now for about a month. A few wobbles at the beginning but was feeling OK.

Friday night I went out so did not take my tablet as I though, rather stupidly if I did that I could drink. I drunk a reasonable amount but got far drunker than I would do without being on medication. On Saturday I had an absolute hangover from hell, to make matters worse I was supposed to pick up my prescription so I have gone all weekend plus Friday without my medication. I have slept all day today and feel very very low. All saturday I was shaking ( I though this was withdrawal dp says it was a bad hangover). I went to sleep last night quite early and I have just woken up but I feel as if I could sleep for hours more and I look awful. Dp says he thinks it was drinking Friday, I think it is not being on the tablets. Is this what happens if you miss a day or two of medication or am I just being punished for getting drunk.

missing the medication will affect the build-up of the drug, iyswim. The alcohol is a natural depressant...combine the two and things like this happen. Just re-take and you will be better soon, look after yourself though, have a bath, choc etc.

don;t miss your tablets. it is so important not too. and drinking , as scorpio says, will make you feel worse

FWIW, coming off ADs , slowly , was absolute hell . shakes, nausea, migraine, felt horrific.

might be hangover excacerbated by no tablets?

hope you are feeling better soon , either way

Thanks, am feeling very sorry for myself, the shakes and headache are awful.

I took dd out for a few hours yesterday as dp said it was just a hangover and I needed to get fresh air. I was trying to pay in marks and sparks and my hands were visibily shaking. The lady asked of I was OK at which point dd said
" Mummy got very drunk last night and misses her drugs"

It's ok, don't be embarrased. when i came off AD's last time it took a while to feel like there was no withdrawal, like lulu says.

kids ! eeek !

hope you are feeling better soon

I am on Seroxat and I can miss one day but that is it. I take mine every second day. I get crazy symptoms if I dont take them, you are going to think I am mad but I get like pins and needles in my head. I researched it once and it is because unlike other ad's these ones give the medication directly to your brain and when your brain doesnt get it it looks for it, hence the crazy symptoms. Get your prescription first thing in the morning, there are herbal/natural stuff which has serotonin in , I will have a look for you.

Can someone tell dp I deserve a little bit of sympathy then? he is very pissed off with me. I have been sent to the well dodgy end of coventry.

He's worried about you.

twinsetandpearls hubby, give the woman some well deserved tea and sympathy. Dont be pissed off with her as this will make her feel worse. This is not a hangover (okay the drink wont have helped) but these feeling are real and genuine and she doesnt need people being annoyed with her when she feels like this. Be nice to her, maybe even extra nice, once she has her meds back you will have your wife back.

i was on Seroxat a couple of years ago and one side affect was that I could drink like a fish and not feel anywhere near as drunk as normal. Be aware of how much you are drinking as the pill can give you a false perspective, be good to your liver

seroxat has very short half life - so many of your symptoms including shaking could well have been due to missing one. If I was an hour late taking a seroxat tablet I would feel slightly odd/giddy.
