Is my antidepressant too high?

Hi,

I have 2 DC under 5 and in January felt overwhelmed by daily life and high expectations on myself. I went from 30 mg citalopram to 40 mg citalopram in February for my anxiety - I was feeling a lot better in April. But May has been very up and down. Using diazepam to help sleep on occasions. Could the 40mg be too high a dose? I went up to 40 mg 5 years ago during another tricky time and didn't like how it made me feel.

Any thoughts/experiences?

Hi, I took a citalopram 20mg a week ago, since I had sickness and diarrhea for 3 days, now I wake up every morning feeling very nauseous and drowsy which only stops with anti sickness tablets, in the afternoons I feel better, but its exactlythe same every day. I only took one, 7 days ago, when will this stop?

When I first started citalopram I felt anxious trying it and experienced side effects for about 4 weeks. The whole process felt alien but I did start to feel normal again once it kicked on and my side effects disappeared. I'm grateful for citalopram. It's just very hard to know what to do when you are in the mist of anxiety. I would give it another 5 days and review how you feel. Seek medical advice if you can, I found this helpful to reassure me. It's worth it , if it suits you
