Currently dreading waking up in the morning and when I do the first thing I think is - I can’t wait till it’s bedtime . What does everyone do to get themselves out of these dark places ?

There are two things you must do:

  1. Get into nature - even for a 20 minute walk
  2. Do something nice for someone else

Take my venaflaxine...

Then look for the tiny little things that make me smile. Keep going.

@SkillSet thanks . Have tried 1 but can’t seem to find the motivation to do anything. Failing miserably at everything atm. Didn’t think of 2 , will try and give that a go

I try to find something I really have to concentrate on. It’s usually sewing whether it’s machine or hand and I pick something difficult so that it blocks out all the thoughts going round in my head. It also gives me a sense of achievement that I’ve learnt something new.

No advice to give, but I feel the same as you OP.

I try to keep busy even if it feels pointless at the moment and I try to keep positive that my therapy will help me make changes to give life some meaning in the long run.
