I take 10mg as and when I need them - maybe once every couple of weeks - have done for years with no side effects. 5mg will send you off to a nice sleep but if you really need to wake you will be able to.

Do you get the sleep walking side effects it's that that's scaring me

No. And unless you are a regular sleep walker there's no reason to believe that you will.

Zolpidem is typically a lighter sleeping pill than Zopiclone; you will find the effect similar but less strong. Sleepwalking is not a common side effect. You can find the side effects on the notice inside the box.

What have you tried to tackle the anxiety and/or what are you anxious about?

GrumpyPanda · 24/05/2024 22:12

5mg is the appropriate dose for women (10 is the male dosage.) That said,. I usually split tablets and take around 3mg. May take me a bit to drop off but no hangovers this way. I also never take them for longer than a few days in a row. I believe the issues you raise are with long-term use.

I've been on Zopiclone 7.5 mg as and when needed (probably only had one in the last 2/3 months) and have had no side effects whatsoever. I have had severe anxiety and insomnia for over 30 years and I know what works for me and what doesn't. I have also used diazepam 5mg in the same manner. As and when needed, and have never abused them, nor been addicted. I've had Zolpidem in the past too, again no side effects and no issues. The only thing I would say is that i have to be in bed, chilled and reasonably relaxed when I take them, otherwise I can still not sleep at all. They never, ever, 'knock me out'. These drugs have been an absolute lifesaver for me on a mental health level, my insomnia literally drove me insane and broke me. Without them it's likely I would not be here now. Good luck.
