Yet another sertraline question (sorry)

So I’m coming to the end of week 1 on 25mg. I’ve been really lucky so far with the side effects. Insomnia for the first couple of days, and then just a slightly wired feeling for a few hours after taking it in the morning and some nausea in the evening. Nothing unmanageable so far!

I will be starting on 50mg from tomorrow and I’m feeling quite nervous. Would anyone mind sharing their experience of going from 25-50 in terms of side effects? I’ve had horrible times previously on other ssris and was definitely expecting this to be worse. Am I to assume the adverse effects will start to kick in at 50?

I know everyone reacts differently but if anyone would like to share their experience I’d be very grateful! Thank you.

Take it in the evening not in the morning and you will sleep rough the side effects

Through. Not rough.

I don’t have experience of going from 25 to 50 as I went immediately on to 50, my main side effects were brain zaps! A bit of tiredness and just feeling odd for a few weeks.

Thank you, I’m happier taking it in the morning at the moment due to a long standing insomnia issue

Half it. I found the jump from 25-50 too much and had to go back to 25, I then worked my way up in smaller increments.
25 plus a quarter for a week, then a half and so on. I am now on 50 and have been since November. It’s a slow burn but worth it.

That’s a great idea! I’ll start that today. Thank you.
