Venflaxine to Prozac

Doctors changed my tablets due to depression getting worse I was on a dose of venflaxine 300mg I'm now on 30 my of fluoxetine but feel like I'm withdrawing really bad from such a high dose of benflaxine to 30mg of fluoxetine. The doctor said it was fine to do but the withdrawals are horrible and making me feel ten times worse

You need to taper off Venlafaxine slowly, going cold turkey even if starting Fluoxetine will be rough. It took me months to come off it.

I can't believe this! You must be feeling terrible! Venlafaxine is really hard to come off even if it is done very slowly. Ask me how I know.

I would immediately go back to my old dose of V and see my gp or psychiatrist to find a better way.

I've never felt so bad! I've got the shakes, I'm tired, just feel out of sorts! And have an 11 month old to add to the mix so not the greatest

Update I phoned nhs 24 because I can't function! They said to stop fuloxotine go back on the venflaxine and go back to doctors first thing Tuesday morning!

Ah OP, good job for making that call. I 'm sure you will be feeling like your former self in 12-24 hours back on your V.
It must be really tough having to care for your DC at the same time but then again they help us to be strong!

Dh had venlafaxine years ago, only a very low dose and he was only taking it a few weeks but I remember the withdrawal was awful and took a while. I think there is guidance for tapering and starting up a new antidepressant.

Just wondering if anyone else has been on venflaxine,and how they coped on it I’ve upped my dose to 75 and still not feeling any better been on it nearly two weeks the new dose,I’m just sick of feeling so low
