Citalopram increase from 20mg?

Does anyone have experience of increasing dose of Citalopram from 20mg?

Did you go to 30mg or straight to 40mg and did you have any side affects?

How long have you been on 20mg for? I increased to 30 and then 40mg and had no side effects but I had been on 20 for a good few years before I upped so not sure if that made a difference! x

Ive been on 20mg for about 7 months now

I went from 20 to 40 within a month. No side effects.

My GP increased me from 20mg straight to 40mg. No side effects

Hi @Keeponkeepingonandon I've been on 20mg for several years but at the start of last year was really struggling due to bereavement. GP suggested I went up to 40mg but it turned me into a zombie very quickly. So I went onto 30mg for about 9 months and am now back on 20mg. They don't do a single tablet in 30mg so you have to have a 20 and 10mg pack (only 1 prescription cost). I'm keeping the 10mg ones for when I taper down from 20mg once I'm through menopause.
