Hiya,

I am in late stages of preg, and dr said that best not to take AD's if I can help for next 3 weeks, but what about when breast feeding? Would Fluoxotine affect the baby through breast feeding?

Thanks for your advice

The best information about medication and breastfeeding is from Breastfeeding Network, and they say that Fluoxotine isn't recommended, but there are lots of other choices of ADs when bfing.

I was on sertraline when ds was born and when starting bfing. The Docs looked into it fo rme and said that while the ideal is to take notjhing, the benefits of bfing are so great that they outweigh the cons. That was sertraline though, don't know about fluoxetine.
CAUTION:I wouldn't stop taking them suddenly - makes you feel really unwell.
