cannot face going into work

I feel really low. I cannot face going into work tomorrow. My attendance is always excellent and I force myself to go in even if I don’t feel like it. I cannot face it tomorrow. I feel guilty for not wanting to go in and I know I will wake up and force myself to go in and struggle the rest of the day. Just one day at home might make me feel better.

I think a lot of us feel like this to be honest forcing ourselves to go in day after day but if your attendance is generally good and you aren't well then it's fine to take some sick time off. Hope you feel better soon.

Take a day of sick leave and look after yourself.

I just feel so guilty though. Past few times I’ve felt like this but got too nervous to phone in so just went. I feel like they going to think I’m making it up but I genuinely feel terrible. I can’t sleep either which will make me worse tomorrow. I wish I didn’t have to call them but policy is to call and speak to someone then follow up with an email then call again towards end of the day to tell them when you will return. It’s fo much hassle as it will be on my mind if I do call in sick. Maybe I’ll just go in.

I had an awful flashback of something I don’t want to discuss right now but it’s made me feel upset all day. I don’t work Mondays so tomorrow is my first day back. I work Tuesdays to Fridays and get Mondays off.

You don’t have to do the policy. If you are feeling that bad just email in and say you can’t call as you've lost your voice/got tonsillitis etc

Are you mainly feeling anxious about work or the flashback? It sounds like you were feeling bad last week too. Have you spoken to a GP?

Hope you get some sleep and feel a little better in the morning.

Thank you.

@Squiggles23 i suppose I don’t have to follow the policy as exact, I’m not sure if that’s what others do or not. I think I might just call and email but leave the 2nd call. They make it so difficult.
