Does anyone take ssri and promethazine

I’ve been prescribed both but after researching it says not to take together as can increase risk of heart rhythm irregularities and I took promethazine a long time and had heart irregularities with another drug that it can react to so I’m hesitant about taking it with citalapram
so just wondering if anyone else does and if they have been told it’s ok?
I suffer with sleep anxiety and nocturnal panic attacks so it’s supposed to help!?

I've taken both for years with no problems and my doctor has never had any concerns. Double check if you're worried though.

Thank you I am thinking if they prescribed it surely they would know! It’s just with me having a reaction to something else that spiked my anxiety! Have you got citalapram or a different one?

Ask the Doctor to arrange to do an ECG to check your heart trace when you are taking them both.

Promethazine is fairly short acting and you can stop it straight away if needed.

@CanaryMary Sorry I'm the worst, have only just seen your response/question to me! You've probably moved on from this problem by now, but to answer your question, I take sertraline. Hope you landed on a decision you feel comfortable with.
