PIP payment for depression?

Does anyone on here receive a PIP payment for depression? I have been advised by someone in my union to apply for it as my depression is really impacting my job and the number of hours I work but I didn't think this would ever be an option!

I get PIP for severe anxiety, OCD and depression as well fibro. But primarily anxiety and depression. It's about how it effects you and your everyday life as to whether you get awarded it or not. You can only apply and see what happens. I didn't expect to get it but I did.

It's awarded for your care & mobility needs not employment - adjustments at work would need to be made by your employer. Do you have occ health or equivalent?

PIP is awarded based on points scored for different activities of daily living & mobility. If you google 'pip points' it will give you an idea of how you would score on the assessment. If you think you score enough points then it's worth applying. You need to provide evidence of the care & support. You don't have to be paying for a carer - care can be provided by partner/family etc.

I have autism as well as anxiety and depression. It prevents me working at all. I’m not eligible for PIP.

@Stigglet same here. How do you manage? I’ve had to move in with my very difficult DM which is only worsening my mental health x

I get the enhanced daily living component of PIP due to the effects of depression, eating disorders and a personality disorder.

I have made a claim for ptsd depression and anxiety but I don’t work and haven’t in 7 years if your line of work contradicts your medical problems they won’t give you it for example you have anxiety you work in a place that is I dunno customer service my bfs mum has tried to get pip she can hardly walk but she works and her job contradicted what she has wrong with her she was rejected even though she had a lot of medical evidence for osteoarthritis I don’t make the rules so please don’t come for me I’m just telling what I’ve seen others say and it goes on how it effects your daily life it has to really impact your life to get pip but I’ve also seen others get it with no medical evidence I guess it’s like a lottery you can only try do the online test good luck
