Increased anxiety on increasing sertraline dosage

My DD16 recently changed from fluoxetine to sertraline.
She was on 100mg and was coping OK. I noticed she was calm but she mentioned she was still anxious to the psychiatrist. Her dosage was upped to 150 and for the past 2 days she is increasingly anxious and I can see the depression is getting worse.
I will give it a few more days before emailing the doctor but was wondering if anyone has noticed this when they increased dose and if it settled.
To make things worse we also upped the adhd medication so I am not sure which medication is causing things to worsen.
I suspect it is sertraline but cannot be sure.

In my experience when you make any changes it gets worse before it gets better unfortunately OP. I was told there could be roughly about a 2 week period where you feel worse and then it improves again. It’s likely to do with her change of medication. Have you read the patient information leaflet? How long has she been on the increased dose? There’s a good website called medicines.org that has loads of information.
Hope your daughter feels better soon!

@Vallmo47
Thank you for the reply.
She has only been on increased dose for 2 days so I am aware it is still very early days.
I suppose I am wondering if 150 could be too high a dose for her and she isn't able to cope.
She moved from 50 to 100 fairly easily and had no side effects.
I know the answer is "give it more time". Just looking for reassurance to make me feel better.

As frustrating as it is it is common for symptoms to worsen with a dose increase, I think it takes the body time to adjust to the new dose and this can make things feel worse for a while. If she can ride this out I’m sure she will start to notice a positive effect soon enough. It is tough to start with so I totally sympathise! X

I'm in the same situation, I have slowly been increasing my dose 50/75/100 over the last 13 weeks, and still no real improvement, just hang in there they keep saying, the anxiety and depression only seen to be getting worse after each increase, and the physical symptoms are all over body aches and nervesness, possibly her dose could be too high and so could mine 😢. X

We had to drop dose back to 100mg.
She was noticeably more anxious at 150. Maybe we should have given it few more days but that was the psychiatrist advice so I didn't challenge it.
