Hi all,

Thank you in advance for reading.

I guess I am looking for some success stories with mirtazapine. I have been taking it so far for 5 days and feel absolutely awful. I feel like I’m barely conscious and am almost outside of my body. I occasionally get feelings of extreme anger and strong suicidal thoughts then back to barely conscious thoughts. I am still on 50mg Sertraline (this will be reduced to 25 on Monday, have been reducing weekly from 200mg as Dr believed it wasn’t helping).

I have severe anxiety and depression. Have had to give up my job in February as been off work since October. I have worked since I was in my late teens so this isn’t a common theme.

Thanks again

I'm on fluoxetine but my next step is mirtazapine. I'm dreading feeling groggy. Has it given you any relief? Sorry you're feeling thos way x

It changed the game for me, the first AD that actually worked and sorted my sleep out. Give it a few weeks before you make any decisions

@JudeGarret did you struggle in the beginning with it?

@Dawn1331 thank you for the kind message. No relief yet but I guess very early days

It’s been absolutely brilliant for me. I’ve been on it for 6 years, 30mg. I had horrendous anxiety and insomnia before I started it - so bad I ended up quitting my job and having a breakdown, it was awful. Mirtazapine sorted my sleep out and made me feel so, so much better! I would never be without it now, it changed my life. I remember feeling so, so tired and spaced out, like a zombie when I first started it. After a week that feeling completely went away, and I started improving massively. Try to stick it out a bit longer if you can - I hope you feel better very soon 💐
