Is this normal - wake up scared dont want to get up stay in bed. Once up hyperventilating and pacing around the house. Went for a walk felt like was manic. Got back still couldn't sit. Feel like crying but nothing happens. I'm taking Citalopram 40mg from
30mg 3weeks ago

Yes, I've struggled with panic attacks in the past, that gnawing feeling in your stomach that turns into full blown sweating, heart racing horrific feeling.

It will get better. I spent weeks in a constant state like this. I got it under control by learning not to fight it, the more you resist the longer it lasts. It's like saying to it "Do your worst" and then, for me at least, it calmed.

Keep reminding yourself that it's a temporary thing. It sounds trite but exercise is good even though it's probably the last thing you feel like doing. It burns off adrenaline.

Michael Sealey has some good sleep hypnosis videos on Youtube that I found calming when I couldn't sleep.

You will get better.

Yes, it’s horrendous. But it’s basically adrenaline overload (or cortisol? Can’t remember). CBT helps. Medication helps. And finding techniques to burn it off (exercise etc) helps. Then the adrenaline stops flowing when it’s not needed.
