Hi everyone

I just wanted to know what everyone does when they reach the burnout stage

Any tips and tricks

I feel incredibly burnout at the moment (Mummy to 3 year old twins)

I absolutely hate the burnout stage
I feel incredibly guilty
Snappy
Impatient
Tired
And overall just not present

Any advice would be throughly appreciated

Yoga nidra is great for burnout, it really helped me last year. On YouTube there is a girl called Ali boothroyd who does great videos, if you can spare between 10-30 minutes to do one each day even before bed when your babies are asleep.

@Nogodsnomasters
I will definitely give it a go
Thank you ☺️

Hi ChocolateLover

Your name is a great indication to start with. People who love eating chocolate are low in magnesium. High stress wipes out magnesium in the body.

I'm so sorry you feel like this. Burn out feels horrible.

Here are some tips that helped me get out of burn out, brought my energy back & brought the joy back into life:

  • Your body is crying out for space/ time for you. How can you make that happen? In the evening maybe or ..... Also start taking 3s pauses during the day - just stop/ let your body totally relax. It feels great & lots of 3s pauses build over the day. So good.
  • Ask yourself, if a friend you loved had this situation what would you tell him/ her to do?
  • Each day ask what would you love to do just for the sake of it, for no logical good reason? That's what your body/ nervous system are craving now.
  • Think back to what gives you joy. (You may find this hard as you're in burnout but you'll remember.). Joy/ fun/ silliness is like a magic cure in this situation.

E.g. A hot bath with a book,
10 minutes by a river watching the water,
finding a way to get lots more hugs,
inspiring meditations that leave you feeling relaxed, peaceful & loved - let me know if you'd like that & I'll send you some

  • Your nervous system feels overloaded. To help it to feel better, what would help you feel safe/ supported? That's what it needs. I've created a free 5 days to peace course you can use if you want. It'll help you feel so much better.

I burnt out years ago. It was horrible.
I really want to help others.
There are great ways to avoid or back out of burn out.

Let me know how you get on & if you want those meditations & that course. They'd just be a gift to show you how loveable you are. 🤗💕🤗

Big hugs Jane

@NomadJane thank you for your previous reply to OP. I just searched burnout on here as I’m feeling incredibly drained and mentally/physically awful - back to work with 1 yr old and 3yr old who both don’t sleep and having lost my dad 6 months ago but having no time or where to even acknowledge it. Your reply spoke with so much compassion.

I was going to start my own thread in MH then saw your thread. Massive moan incoming...

I'm so over being waitress, cook, cleaner , tidy- upper to my kids. My husband does a lot of 'tidying' as he hates mess plus dishwasher and cooking if he's not working. Basically he does his share when he's not working but I also work and have to do my share all the time. I feel like I need a weekend after the weekend to recover and we didn't do anything except be around the house.

I'm also recently menopausal and feel so achy and irritable this morning. I went for a walk to get out of the house but was so achy I couldn't wait to get home.

I feel like I wasted my younger years on being unmotivated, depressed, lacking confidence and trying to find a man to settle down with.im seeing young YouTubers and music artists with so much drive and ambition. I have some ambition now but at 48 my body wont always comply.

Massive moan over. Thanks for the tips posted above. I'll check them out.
