Talking therapy

I suffer from anxiety and depression and I am taking Sertraline, which helps a lot.
Lately though there is a lot of really stressful stuff happening in my private life and my anxiety is just through the roof.
I think I need some talking therapy along the meds, but I don’t know what to ask for. I am familiar with CBT, but I feel like I need a shrink like in the movies who I can talk to about my childhood and my parents.
What kind of therapy am I looking for?

If you're in the UK and have access to NHS Talking Therapies .... When you make the self referral, they phone you for an assessment (took about 45minutes). They will then suggest either CBT or counselling. I indicated a preference but they went away and came back with their suggestion. And you can self referral again if you want the other... So it's pretty much CBT OR counselling.

What actual type of counselling/counsellor this will be, I don't know! But they've made the decisions thus far for me and for that I am grateful (as you know, it's an exhausting state to be in).

(There is also other things on offer eg group art therapy or whatever - I skirted right over that offer!)
