Ive been on sertraline for 10 weeks now for low mood and severe anxiety. (Mainly social but also generalised and health anxiety also)
I had 6 weeks on 50mg then my dose got increased to 100mg as I wasn’t feeling any better.
My mood has improved in the last 3 weeks, I’m definitely not feeling as low as I was and I’m more motivated to do things. However my anxiety is still as terrible as ever. I’d say it’s probably worse than what it was before I started the medication. I’m constantly in fight or flight mode, my heart races all the time and I’m feeling jittery all day long and still getting waves of panic.
Some days are slightly better than others.
I just had a review with the doctor and he said to persevere for another month, and then they’d look into adding a beta blocker in if I still don’t think the anxiety has improved. I’ve read that it can take 12 weeks for things to level out and feel the full affects, but with that only being 2 weeks away I can’t see myself feeling any better.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? I’m just wanting to feel normal
