My partner (28) is suffering from a mental health crisis. Very low and talks about how he doesn't want to be here anymore. I'm very worried about him. He is refusing to speak to any friends or his parents about any of it. I am also struggling to cope support him on my own and feel isolated and like its too much responsibility. Is it ok to inform his Mother who he has a close relationship or is this controlling? We have had arguments about it where I have suggested I need to speak to his Mother if he doesn't. What shall I do?

Has his spoken to a GP or the crisis team?

I think it really is too big a responsibility to deal with on your own, although i can understand him not wanting you to tell DM. Is there a friend of his he would be happy for you to share this with for some support?

Where to get urgent help for mental health

You may need urgent help for mental health for many different reasons. Some people call it a crisis, an emergency or a breakdown. It's important to know that support is available, whatever you're going through.

There’s a list of men’s support groups on here, maybe there are some forums for partners for advice?

Yes speaking to GP and therapist but still not enough. I would feel awful if anything happened and I just feel like he would benefit from DM knowing anf supporting. They are close. Am i allowed to over ride his wish and speak to her in such a crisis?

I really don’t know. Many years ago I was actively suicidal, I’d have been distraught if DH had contacted my family tbh and it would have made me feel worse but I imagine for some people it could really help.

Did you see the link I posted just above? I think we cross posted.
