Started self harming again

I'm really upset. I just want to feel better tonight and less in my own head and anxious. I haven't self harmed for a long time but tonight everything got too much and I feel so stupid but more than that I want to hurt even more or run away out into the rain. I can't as my son is here and I wouldn't do anything regrettable because everything I do is for him.

I'm sorry. I've been there. Are you okay? Are you able to take care of the injury yourself? Please do that first. Then give your son a cuddle if you can. Do you have someone you can talk to? I'm almost a decade free of self harm, if you want please PM me any time.

The most important thing is that you haven't let anyone or yourself down. It's just a blip. Tomorrow is a new day. Do something nice for yourself now if you can, distract yourself with whatever you like to do - a movie, music, anything.

Hello ChipotleChops, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our www.mumsnet.com/webguide/mental-health Mental Health resources]]. You can also go to the www.samaritans.org/ Samaritans website]] or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

We are going to move this thread to the Mental Health section shortly.

@hoarahloux I'm ok. I've really calmed down now. I have spoken to my mum and cried. It's funny how a blip can take you so much by surprise. I don't even know where it all came from. I just felt so overwhelmed. I've been holding it together for so long it broke tonight. I've put a film on but will get to bed soon. Thank you for replying to me.
