My child has had a really stressful year with mental health but thankfully is on the mend. I've found myself suffering with anxiety and depression. Can you have delayed depression? Although things were really hard on the whole family we just about kept it together (actually there were some really stressful)times) but we got through.
I've got depressed as things have improved. Can this happen?

While trying to help dc you have no time to be depressed yourself, now reality has kicked in and you're now feeling it. Maybe ptsd? I'm no doctor but I would recommend you speak to one. Take care of yourself now.

How are you op?

Increased meds after speaking to doc. From experience this will take a bit of time. I need to reduce stress to help.

Yes I think sometimes you get into a kind of ‘survival’ mode when things are bad on others and stay stronger to deal with it. Then once things start to improve there’s no wonder you are hit with a wall of exhaustion and possibly all the feelings you didn’t process.

Hopefully the meds will help ❤️

Hopefully they kick in for you soon. Make sure you have some me time this weekend. Have a lie in, go for a nice walk, glass of wine perhaps?

Yes, you can feel depressed even after things get better. You may have focused on your child's struggles and ignored your own now try to focus more on ways for benefiting intellectual health now, your emotions might catch up with you also It's okay to seek help take care of yourself, too!
