Am I losing my marbles

Hello,
not really sure where to start or why I am posting really but here goes…
My mind seems to wake up when I get into bed at night, I start thinking of things that have happened during the day but of how things could have gone wrong.
For instance my daughters (13 & 8) do church bell ringing, this past weekend we were lucky enough to be able to go up onto the roof of one of our local churches, obviously we were all perfectly safe and made it back down in one piece. However when I got into bed that night it was like a continual movie in my mind of if one of us had fallen off the roof, or what if one of the ropes wrapped around our necks when we were ringing! I have no idea why I start thinking like this and I wish I could stop it.
I have also been having spells of feeling really panicky for no reason.
As I said I don’t really know why I was posting… advice maybe 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have a look at this video on middle of the night anxiety; hopefully it will put your mind as ease.

I go through identical phases. A reliable strategy for me is to listen to something interesting but demanding enough to require some concentration. Something like a long interview or an old dialogue-heavy movie.

Eventually I become immersed to the point that I forget the distressing thoughts, and the adrenaline fades away without me even realising. (In film I believe it’s called ‘suturing the audience’)

The silver lining is the post-stress exhaustion means I usually fall into a deep sleep.

Thank you both, that’s very helpful

Hi.
My bed is a magical place where
I too remember all the things I haven't done/could have done better/what ifs of the day

I listen to audio books to stop this happening.
