The reason I started it was feeling low all the time and no energy but sertaline has actually made that 10 times worse all I do is sleep on it I have 0 emotions I can't even cry am always hungry and my ocd thoughts still come to my head time to time not that strong though and am always hungry. I just need advice it's nearly 4 months should I still give them time or stop altogether? Am tired of feeling like this

I wouldn't stop, but I would refer back to your GP for a medication review / change.

I felt the same. I stopped taking them and feel much better without them. It didn't make me sleep even. I just felt numb and dead and was still having all the overwhelming thoughts. GP agreed there was no point. I also had my thyroid medication checked again and it was out of balance again- I am feeling much better (but not great) now. Can motivate myself, have been going toSlimming World and lost 17lbs. I think 'the world situation' is worrying me a lot and there's just nothing I can do about that.

@LuluBlakey1Thankyou for the reply. Can I ask if u had any withdrawal symptoms when u stopped? I would love to just stop cold turkey but everywhere I read it says to gradually wean off them. So tired of feeling like this don't think I really recovered after Covid I know what u mean by the worldly side of things it causes anxiety, I hope you feel better soon xx

I reduced from 100 to 50 to 0 across 3 weeks with GP agreement. No side effects.

I have had depression on and off for 25 years so it's not terrifying but it is so debilitating. I am sick of anti-depressants. I feel much better now with nothing. At least I have some motivation.

Hope you feel better soon.

As previous people have said, don't stop taking the Sertaline. Go and tell your GP your symptoms and that you are unhappy with the result. They should then look at another medication for you. Unfortunately it can take a few tries to find a medication that works for you. GL, hang in there, and be kind to yourself.
