Fluoxetine

Has anyone a time scale for fluoxetine to start working? I've been on them a week x

It depends on the individual. I know people who noticed a difference after a few days and others for whom is took several weeks.

Over 5 weeks for me and nothing yet... even upped to 40mg just gave me a bad belly!

@Helplessandheartbroke oh no! Not had that problem yet just wish it would kick in x

You may feel more anxious for a while until they start to work. I was very anxious during the second week but started feeling better durimg the third week.

I'm two weeks in and feel very anxious, worse than before I started taking them. I've heard good things about fluoxetine so hoping this wears off soon.

Took about a month for them to kick in for me.

Within a week for me.

Started on 20mg never noticed a difference especially with anxiety, now on 60mg and can still have bad depression days. Don't know what to do next as I think 60mg is max. Op wishing u better luck with it.

About two months for me. It wasn't immediately obvious to me but I'm autistic so don't process things in the moment. Looking back though I'd say about then. My ocd thoughts got quieter and I stopped being as avoidant

Three days for me. I switched from Sertraline (which didn't work and gave me headaches) and three days later I felt like someone had opened the curtains and let the light in. Totally life changing.

Hi I've been taking them for 23 days and today was the best I've felt since starting

@Niknak47 really? I was starting to lose hope. I'm just praying it's all uphill from here. So glad you're feeling better x

Its now 21 days for me and today has been a better day, no anxiety and I've felt motivated to go out. Hopefully I'm coming out of the "worse before better" stage.

Probably about 6 weeks for me, but definitely worth it
