Has anyone a time scale for fluoxetine to start working? I've been on them a week x

You may feel more anxious for a while until they start to work. I was very anxious during the second week but started feeling better durimg the third week.

TheDogsKnees · 26/01/2024 22:50

I'm two weeks in and feel very anxious, worse than before I started taking them. I've heard good things about fluoxetine so hoping this wears off soon.

Aroundthewaygirl · 27/01/2024 00:08

Took about a month for them to kick in for me.

LightSpeeds · 27/01/2024 00:43

Within a week for me.

Northernsouloldies · 27/01/2024 01:59

Started on 20mg never noticed a difference especially with anxiety, now on 60mg and can still have bad depression days. Don't know what to do next as I think 60mg is max. Op wishing u better luck with it.

About two months for me. It wasn't immediately obvious to me but I'm autistic so don't process things in the moment. Looking back though I'd say about then. My ocd thoughts got quieter and I stopped being as avoidant

HappyAsASandboy · 27/01/2024 04:34

Three days for me. I switched from Sertraline (which didn't work and gave me headaches) and three days later I felt like someone had opened the curtains and let the light in. Totally life changing.

I hope they work for you soon, OP Flowers

Niknak47 · 01/02/2024 20:19

Hi I've been taking them for 23 days and today was the best I've felt since starting

Dawn1331 · 01/02/2024 20:25

@Niknak47 really? I was starting to lose hope. I'm just praying it's all uphill from here. So glad you're feeling better x

Its now 21 days for me and today has been a better day, no anxiety and I've felt motivated to go out. Hopefully I'm coming out of the "worse before better" stage.

LtMoose · 01/02/2024 20:47

Probably about 6 weeks for me, but definitely worth it

Dawn1331 · 02/02/2024 10:10

@Dawn1331 that's all you can do. I've not been lately and felt myself spiral. Our minds are strange things aren't they x
