Today I've been diagnosed with C-PTSD. It's a lot to take in.

One day at a time.

And you know you aren't "mad" if you are triggered.

I've thought I had it for ages but still feels alarming to know I definitely have it. I feel very alone. Thank you for replying.

I have been diagnosed with this as well. It is a hard thing to take on board, but I also felt very relieved. Relived to know that all the things that happened to me were why I was unable to cope and had been struggling with being 'normal'for so many years. It's the start of 'recovering' and accepting, for want of a better phrase.

Sending solidarity and my very warmest and most accepting wishes, it's such a big thing to take in isn't it, I've been there.

You are still you, but now you have a description of your symptoms that means you can start a healing journey.

None of whatever might have happened to you is your fault or your shame, I hope you can open to some self-compassion as this diagnosis may help you understand and explain some past issues and current feelings that you may not previously have understood or even blamed yourself for.

Wishing you well at the start of this time of healing and letting go for you. I hope you can now access the treatment you need.

Can I ask how was it diagnosed and who diagnosed you?
