How do you know if you are emotionally disregulated?

I've always been a highly sensitive person and struggle with life in general.

Does anyone else feel the same?

What do you mean by being emotionally dysregulated?

Are you talking about nervous system activation? Sensory overload?

Or something else eg mental illness, depression, anxiety?

Emotional dysregulation is more about being highly impulsive, managing emotions through self harm or addiictive behaviours.
Yoyo-ing emotions significantly within a day , so being distressed / agitated/ angry within a short space of time.

Ps i run clinics supporting people with emotional dysregulation. It mostly occurs within complex trauma but cam exist within other diagnoses.

@BertieBotts I normally get triggered by being ignored, being invalidated or feeling invisible. I was bullied as a child, teenager and in the work place. I don't have much faith in authoritive figures as they let me down badly in the past.

I suppose depression and anxiety but I've dealt with this all my life so I think it's my personality. Can't change my personality.

@IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls I cut myself once when I was 15 but never attempted anything like it since.

It's normally dealing with people I find hard. I don't feel safe emotionally around many.

It doesn't sound like emotional dysregulation.... more like anxiety and needing some support with building confidence and helping your brain to feel safe in unfamiliar environments.
