Hi,
I am currently suffering with awful PND. 6 weeks post partum. Prescribed sertraline 50mg which I took a few weeks ago, side effects were awful so I stopped taking them.
plucked up the courage to start again at 25mg and am on day 4 with manageable side effects so far.
what I would love to know is if these things can help bring my motivation back and interest in my old hobbies.. would love to hear stories.
mornings are awful and it’s so so hard for me to get myself out of bed.. but I do! By the afternoon I’m normally a little better but still my motivation is low. Will AD’s help? I need some hope. This is awful and I sympathise with anyone suffering, it’s truly debilitating

This sounds exactly like me! I am 7 weeks PP. mornings are the worst and I’ve lost interest in a lot of things I used to enjoy. Feel like I’ve lost my bubbly personality too. I started sertraline 6 days ago - hoping it makes a difference!

@BeKind88 its truely awful isn’t it!! Honestly the worst thing to go through and I had hyperemesis in pregnancy! I am on day 19 now (day 6 of 50mg) and oh my god I feel like a new woman today. I know this can dip again but my god my energy and motivation is SOOO much better. Sertraline is magic

@Yarnle it is! I’m fed up feeling this way - just want my old personality back! Fed up with having panic attacks!
That’a great!! when did you start to feel better ?

Yarnle · 17/01/2024 11:22

Exactly how I felt! There have been nights I was praying I didn’t wake up the next day and died in my sleep!! After about 10 days I could feel myself perking up but probably in the past few days I’ve felt more like myself and only today is the most I’ve felt like my old happy self since giving birth! So it does take some time but it’s sooo so worth it. Hope it starts to work for you soon ☺️

@Yarnle that is good to know! Hopefully I’ll start to feel better soon. The past 5 days I haven’t felt any better but not any worse. Today I’m just very anxious and on edge. And quite ‘rattley’

@BeKind88 how are you doing? I’ve had a little bit of a dip the past few days (as I knew I would) and just upped my dose of sertraline to see if that makes a difference.
hope you are managing okay :)
