Hi is the Samaritans helpline an actual person?
I just called and the person just kept repeating the same phrase and ended the call as they couldn't hear me speaking.
It was very robotic.
Is it bots now?

Try again. Perhaps they genuinely couldn’t hear you. Hopefully you’ll get a better connection next time.

Yes, the volunteers are actual people. If they can't hear you they will usually tell you so, and ask you to call back. That's what I'd do. 💐

There are 20,000 volunteers in hundreds of branches all over the UK.

The Samaritans are real life people , thankfully. However they are trained not to lead a call, so they will have a kind of script they do have to stick to. So if they couldn't hear you properly they would be stuck in a loop of asking the same question

However they are literally life savers, I know, Ive had to make the call. Theres nowt they haven't heard, you cant shock them, and they know how to listen and how to phrase things so its you that takes control of what happens next

Theres no problem too big or too small that they arent there for so if you need to talk, and you have no where else to turn to, turn to them, they are there for you/us

I’ve had mixed responses from the Samaritans. Some good, some not at all. Ended the call feeling they’d followed a script with no emotion in any of it.

I finally spoke to someone.
He was quite good.
I think after some things I told him he was quite shocked about the things going on in my life.
I felt better after I off loaded.

My mood is not good still.
My family came around yesterday which helped I suppose.
