Hi,

I have recently been diagnosed with PND i have 2 little boys one nearly 3 and the other nearly one. Ive suffered in silence for a long time.

I was recently given Citalopram to take but it didnt agree with me and after 3 weeks i was feeling no better so my doctor has given me clomipramine to take. After a 3 day pill break i have to start taking these tonight.

I was just wondering if anyone had taken them before and if there were any obvious side effects?

Thanks

Claire x

Just wondered how you feel today after starting to take the new pills?

Good luck x

Hi

Thanks for your message. I dont really feel any different after taking them apart for ive slept a little better the past few nights. Ive been taking them at night time so maybe they are making me feel tired.

I hope that these agree with me better than the others as i really need the help.

How are you?

Claire xx

Hi,

I was prescribed Clomipramine to aid with my (fairly severe) PND. It was the third drug we tried and worked like a treat. It is an older style anti-d. The main side effect that I know of is dry mouth. I had this on a dose of 150mg but to be honest I was so glad to have the cloud lifting that I didn't care too much. Once the dose lowered to 100mg then 50mg the dry mouth went.

It is especially good for anxiety related depression and I believe it helps with sleep.

I was on it for about 8 months.

I hope it works for you.
