Anxiety

I have diagnosed anxiety and seem to go through odd waves of it. I have propanelol but I think I would like to try an SSRI. Has anyone any experience of Fluvoxemine? Sertraline/Fluexetine and Citalopram gave me a lot of side effects so keen to try something else.

I have used sertraline in the past and found it definitely lessened my anxiety after a few weeks of being on it.

Be aware though that in the first week or two you might feel more anxious while the drug gets into your system before it properly starts to work.

After the first two weeks I had little to no side effects and it just made everything feel more manageable and I my brain wasn't constantly worst case scenario-ing absolutely everything all the time.

I'm having a bout of anxiety currently and wishing I was still on it but currently trying to ride it out, absolutely wouldn't hesitate to go on sertraline again though if that doesn't happen.

I also have propranolol but find it doesn't stop the racing thoughts at all. Just the physical symptoms, just makes it slightly more bearable for me.

Twice over the years I had citalopram. Worked brilliantly. This year it gave me awful side effects and so I tried sertraline with great success. My point being, maybe give something a try that didn’t work before. As we get older, and our physiology changes, we can adapt and change over time.
