When happy, feel oddly nervy

I have a GAD and have since I was a child. Lately I’ve noticed that when I’ve had a great day or things are going well, I feel oddly nervous and restless.

Anyone else? Why does this happen?

It’s like my body can’t be happy!

Can you reframe it to yourself? It sounds like you see happiness as peace, contentment. A quiet peaceful state of satisfaction. And it can be that x But happiness can also be experienced as excitement, anticipation, joy. Think of a small child before Chistmas. They are happy! But also full of nervy excited tension! You are just experiencing a different kind of happiness. Could you be brave enough to embrace and enjoy this new state of being?

Also, you've had a great day! Your brain is excited, it's releasing natural stimulants into your body. This is what you're experiencing. This is what other, differently-tuned people would experience as success. So well done x

Have a Google of "hypersensitive limbic system". It can be this, it can need therapy (EMDR maybe?) and things like meditation, yoga can help, further down the line of learning about and easing it.
