Need good excuse for 2 days absence

I cannot face work on Monday and need one/two days off. I need a good strong reason but unsure what to say? I cannot state MH.

Ive no choice and apologise as I can’t provide any further details.

Why can’t you state MH?

Gastro. Two days min. Do you get sick pay?

Migraine, inner ear infection

D&V, as there's good guidance about staying away from many work/school settings to back up staying away

Migraine. I presume you are going through something stressful. If you do end up giving anyone any details of that then it is possible that it brought on a migraine so you wouldn’t have to admit to it not being true.

Better than a short term bug or ear infection as you can have multiple migraines throughout the year without it seeming suspicious. Buy a pack of the nurofen that specify for migraines on the front and carry them round and occasionally offer them to people where appropriate. If you are a contact lens wearer then pop your glasses on instead on the day you go back to work.

Food poisoning leading to D&V or a migraine

Reaction to flu jab.

Vomiting bug for the 48 hour rule.

Say D&V if you have to , 48 hour rule and all that.

Don't say you have a migraine. I suffer with them and it's so difficult to get this condition accepted as a genie reason for absence as it is.

D&V no one will want to see you with that

I agree with D&V. If you need more time you can get signed off by your GP for two weeks. I have done this for stress and anxiety. I hope you get the help you need.

My boss always uses migraine.

Always the vomiting bug. That way you have a minimum 48 hours.

Say its emergency time off fir a dependant ( eg child or elderly relative)because this is legally protected , they have to count this sepaeately and are on thin ice if they use it for any disciplinary proceedings
