Sertraline experiences

My husband has been on sertraline for 10 years for anxiety - works wonders. However, we noticed about 5 years ago that the brand of sertraline he is dispensed impacts on his mood significantly. We found that Ranbaxy (also sold in North Star packaging) is by far the best suited to him. I’ve always been able to find it somewhere, but have struggled this time - I can’t find it anywhere. We’ve had to switch and it’s sent his mood right off! I wondered if anyone had been dispensed ranbaxy recently - trying to work out if it has supply issues or whether I need to try more pharmacies (have tried 20).

Also, pharmacists and GPs completely dismiss that there is any difference between generic brands in terms of their effectiveness, but we’ve really tracked the differences and it’s real. Has anyone else experienced this? TIA

I can’t help but find that interesting. I’m on sertraline, 200mg and I seem to find it a bit hit and miss. I’ve never considered the brands.

Worth testing it out for yourself over time. It probably impacts on a small number of people, but unfortunately significant for us.
