So I lived next to the m25 which is quite noisy I’ve lived here my entire life but it’s a noise I find comforting, so I went to stay with a friend for awhile she lives near the sea I love going on walks and she showed me a walk that is beautiful to go on in the evenings she said because it is so quiet, so we went on the walk and I never expected silence to bother me so much this was more silent that a quiet room it was like the wind stopped there wasnt even a breeze which was weird for somewhere near the sea i couldn’t hear anything the silence was giving me this weird sensation in my ears and the hairs on my body stood up I felt like I was in danger I had to get out of there the whole walk back I played music on my phone to drown out the silence does anyone else get this? To this day I’ve never experienced silence like it

No I find silence soothing, but so can imagine it’s disconcerting if you live somewhere with a constant background hum.

1st thing I do when I get home to an empty house is put the radio on as I don't like the silence.
I love silence at night though when I'm trying to get to sleep.

I miss silence.

I have tinnitus and it's worse when I'm tired or stressed. Sometimes I wish I could "hear" silence again.
