GAD and a terminally ill parent

I've had a long standing diagnosis of GAD and it's mostly controlled with meds and coping mechanisms gained through therapy.

My brother and I are currently caring for our mum who has advanced pancreatic cancer and is in terrible pain.

Of course it's a massive upheaval for anyone but I can feel elements of health anxiety creeping in. An achy shoulder made me google female heart attack symptoms , even though I have a wonky shoulder from an old rotator cuff injury.

Need to get myself together to be there for my mum and brother!

Accept that it is completely normal - it would be strange not to have a heightened awareness of your own health at the moment. Just remind yourself of it whenever you get a twinge and step away from Google.

I'm sorry for what your Mum is going through 😢
