Hey, so I was on citalopram which was working okayish but I was having some mild heart issues on it so the GP told me to make a straight switch from 20mg citalopram to 50mg sertraline, I just wondered if anyones got experience with this and how they found the first few weeks? I’m a week in and the nightmares are really intense I’m not sleeping well at all. I take the sertraline first thing in the morning. Jm
more chatty and happy in myself but my minds running wild at night, did anyone have this and will it calm down? How are you now since the switch? Experiences please 🙏 TIA

Yes I did this. I found the first week similar to when I first took citalopram but nowhere near as bad in terms of feeling weird and it didn't last as long either. Once that passed I felt much better very quickly.
Iirc I went from 30mg citalopram to 50mg sertraline and then upped to 100mg sertraline.
That was about 10 yrs ago, I'm now on 150mg which seems to be my optimum dose.

Also I take mine before I go to bed, not sure if that makes any difference - guessing it's poss not a good idea if you're not sleeping well though.
