Really struggling

I was sectioned on Saturday, unexpectedly. I really can’t cope being on the ward. And I obviously can’t discharge myself. And I did have 15 mins escorted leave but they’ve suspended it :(. I don’t know what to do

I'm going through a battle with my mental health at the moment, not as bad as yours though by the sounds of it.

I’m sorry to hear you’re in hospital. Is there any sign of a nurse or fellow patient that you might be able to warm to?

It might be a case of trying to accept the status quo for now and just trying to get through each day the best you can. Maybe finding an activity to do that you feel ok about doing. Each day you can get through brings you closer to getting better and being discharged.

Lean on anyone you can - even if that’s just people here. X

Is it your first time being sectioned? That will also bring about much uncertainty..
Depending on why you were sectioned and how unwell you may be will depend on how long you may stay for.. Wards can be unpleasant as other people are also unwell and there for their own reasons and things can feel scary at first. I hope you may be able to find an approachable nurse or advocate you can talk to about things. Take each day at a time..

Thanks all. it’s not my first time. But the ward consultant is new. I asked for a plan in ward round and he just said he didn’t know me yet. I’m worried the staff are going to hurt me

I’m really finding being on the ward hard. I’ve got 15 minutes leave, which is fine but they’ve said I need 2 staff (always had one before). I don’t understand as I can only move my wheelchair slowly so no risk of me running off.

I'm sorry you've found yourself in this position.. You sound very upset.

May I ask why you're frightened the staff will hurt you? Has this happened before?

I am upset. If I don’t do as they say they restrain me, which hurts.

I’m so sorry you’re struggling so badly OP. What are they asking you to do and how/why are they restraining you?
