I wasn't sure where to put this but recently came across schitzoid personality disorder as part of my studies and everything I know about my dad, and my relationship with him makes sense.
Of course it isn't for me to diagnose someone remotely and i wouldn't suggest it to him (he is very unapproachable and would dismiss the idea offhand. He is always in the right).
However, his behaviour growing up has affected me a lot and I now feel there may be an explanation for me.
He would have been affected adversely by my grandmother's behaviour as a child.
Does anyone have any experience of schitzoid personality disorder or growing up with someone who had it?
It's something very different to schitzophrenia, schitzotypical personality disorder or schitzoaffective disorder.
