My daughter is suffering depression and anxiety and also is ASD and ADHD.

Last night she was in a negative cycle. Very very upset. We called the camhs crisis team but they didn't call back.

She was saying some hurtful things like she has nothing. (We had just decorated her room to help her as she didn't like the colour. She has a lot.

She said all the people in her year. ( year 11. So 15-16 all have jobs or rich parents. Also not the case. Some are well off but they are probably given less pocket money than her.

She said she has no friends. She does they text her asking her to come to school. She is managing a few mornings.
So she does have friends.

Also said she needs new bras. This is true and I said we can get some at the weekend.

She said she doesn't look after her hamster properly. She actually does and if she didn't. I feed him obviously.

She said there was no point in living as she can't cope with exams. This is when we rang camhs.

I understand a negative loop but why is she saying things that are simply not true.

ADHD can result in a fast pouring out of thoughts. When mine did has had a bad day they all come out at once and negative.

I suffered horribly with depression as a teen and I genuinely believed the things I felt at the time. Looking back the way I saw things really wasn’t accurate, but depression is horrible when it has you in its grip, and that was without the added complications of ASD and ADHD.
Cahms are useless in our area, I know how worried you must be. Young minds offers support for parents and can point you in the right direction for resources/additional help, maybe they can help?

That is the way she sees it at the moment.
I hope she feels better soon
