Is this depression?

Day to day I feel fine. No overwhelming sadness. I’ve had depression before and i don’t feel that sad.

however my motivation and energy levels are through the floor. My house is a tip ( which I usually notice is a sign of depression)

but I can’t seem to summon up the energy to tidy/clean and I’m too tired/ demotivated to do half the things on my to- do list.

it feels like burnout. But is it depression?

Well it's hard to say, but yes that total lack of energy and motivation can be a caused by depression. Depression can come out in sadness but also in other ways like the burnout you're experiencing now. Especially if you've had depression before it's worth taking it seriously, Can you consult your GP?

Well it could be all sorts of things. Physical or mental. These are really vague symptoms and (in the nicest possible way) random people on the internet can't diagnose you. You need to see a GP or a mental health practice nurse if you have one as they can look at the bigger picture and get to the bottom of it.

@AmaryllisNightAndDay @pinguins

Thanks for responding. I get it - I do sound vague. Just re read my post…don’t even have the motivation to explain my symptoms fully! 🤦‍♀️

I do need to go to doctor- it just doesn’t feel like usual depression I get, which is feeling down. Have made an appointment with GP.

i suspect it may also be menopause.

OP, could it be the dreaded peri menopausal time of life?

Is this around your period or do you have any chance of an auto immune condition?

no, this is not depression, it could possibly be mood swings.
