SSRIs and restless legs

Hi all
I took fluoxetine for years and mostly took 20mg but up to 40 in bad times.

I did have issues with restless legs when I increased the dose, but it was bearable.

I have been taking vortioxetine (aka Brintellix or Trintellix) for 2 months, and the restless leg problem is ongoing and pretty bad. Has anyone else had this problem?

I do take magnesium but it's not helping. It would be a shame if I had to come off it but it's really bad. My doctor said some people have this on any SSRI.

Thanks.

I had this on venlafaxine. It was so bad I had to come off it. I'm now on trazodone and I get restless legs after I've taken it at night but because it's a sedative, I normally fall asleep anyway and so don't notice.

I had it badly on Sertraline, had to stop. :(

Thank you both
how long did you find it went on for please?

I don't remember, sorry, it was years ago and I stopped taking Sertraline because of that and other reasons I can't remember.
I hope there are ways to help with the restless legs — I hope someone here or your GP comes up with something.

I take iron supplements which helps with rls. 200mg ferrous sulphate.

Have suffered for 26yrs!!

Thank you Fog

Berfy - love the username- do you know if the cause of your restless legs is SSRIs? Your post reads like you still suffer even with extra iron?

doctor said give it a full 12 weeks to see if it wears off but it’s horrendous.
