Has anyone any experience with ADHD medication on here?
After diagnosis I have now started on 18mg of Xaggitin, the first tablet taken 9am today. I expected a two week duration until improvement/effect.
By lunchtime today I began to feel quite spaced out but with a lot of clarity, I suddenly observed my thought processes to be noticeably more structured and organized than normal and faster paced, my thought content was far more rational and of higher quality. Hmmm not a bad tradeoff but the spacey Trancey feeling continued to intensify as the day went on.
My stomach was also in knots and gave a feeling of discomfort. By 3pm I was experiencing cyclical episodes of hysterical laughter and emotionless crying, alternating back and forth.
Physically I was not speeding but mentally my thought pacing was fast and continuous but not chaotic or unorganized or irrational. Hmmm nice 🙂 but the cyclical laughing and crying continued for a while and was very odd.
I phoned my psychiatrist and he was unconcerned and told me this is normal and would stabilize.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Another observation is that in this calm state of clarity and structured organized thinking I've observed a significant reduction in my ability to socially mask my autism, I can't hide my autism as well.
Obviously it hasn't neurologically changed my autism but I do feel it's REVEALING the extent of it now the clouds are clearing.
Has anyone else experienced this also? Was it permanent?
What about sleeping when the ADHD medication wears off in the evening? Won't this be an issue?
