Really need reassurance, getting so upset. I'm on day 9 of citalopram 20mg. I just keep feeling worse and worse. Even if I'm hungry I gag and I'm petrified of being sick. I'm hot a lot. I just want to cry. I've been going through so much health issues for the last two years I'm starting to really give up.

Sorry you’re feeling rough. A fee options.
You can half the pill, do a few days of 10mg and then increase steadily. 10mg is often a starting / therapeutic dose anyway.
Or, swap to another. I had to come off it after three weeks as I was so unwell, I swapped to sertraline.
However, I’ve had citalopram twice many years ago with great success and no side effects.
Good luck.

You are the absolute kindest! I'm so scared. I already felt like giving up and stupidly put so much pressure on this being my last chance. I've tried so many other ssris and this one I've stuck too because so many people rave about it but I'm genuinely so upset. I feel nauseous every day. If I eat or don't eat. I'm exhausted but can't sleep. Anxious and even 4mg of diazepam doesn't help. I just want to be better for my babies and instead I'm the boring poorly mum. I did 5 weeks on 10mg and I'm on day 9 of 20mg. I just wish someone could tell me they experienced this and it gets better. I'm so tired of trying to reassure myself while I feel like I'm a lost cause. Sorry for the ramble xx

OP are you sleeping? It’s so important when you’re on new meds.

Hardly sleeping. I'm up now and it's almost 2am. I've felt so sick for the last 12 hours. Just want to cry. I've hardly eaten this last 24 hours and yet my nausea is so strong 😭 also have lower tummy cramps. This is just unbearable but I know I can't give up because I can't survive the way I was. I don't know what to do anymore

You can ask your Dr for extra things to get you through this bit. Zopiclone is great fkr sleep. Propranolol or Diazepam for the day time are really helpful. You don’t need to suffer.
